He stopped, dead in his tracks.

"I can't have children."

She looked at the floor herself.

"Neither can I."

"Neither of you? Really? Why?" Emily was now itching to 'fix' them.

He fixed Emily with an odd look.

"Long story, trauma-based."

"Oh... wow. That's too bad." Urgh she wanted to lay ahnds on them.

"Would you want children if you could?"

She shrugged.

"Not something I've thought about."

He laughed softly.

"I would make a horrible father."

Emily laughed, "Maybe, maybe not."

Finished with her food and icecream and such she went in the kitchen to clean up.

She gently pushed Emily out of the way to do the clean up.

"You are the guest. No cleaning. That's my job."

He smiled and went back to the living room, offering Emily an arm.

"Come along. Let Elizabeth do what she likes."

"Just rinsing the bowl and the glass is all, I swear!" She held up a hand as though it were an oath.

She chuckled as she rinsed, then put everything in the dishwasher for later.

"Still my job!"

"Elizabeth gets very protective of her chores."

"Well I wouldn't want to get in the way!" Emily joined Darius in the living room.

"Thank you for the pizza and ice cream guys."

"I promised you, didn't I?"

"Yes you did, but helping was my pleasure. I'm glad you guys found a nice little place for yourself, and each other."

"You truly are a kind-hearted woman, Emily."

"You guys have a great evening!" She waved to everyone and offered them all hugs.

She looked to him, and the crazy was back in her eyes.
