There was a trace. Just a trace of the scent of...was that copper? It was hard to tell.

He knew the trace of copper. It was the scent of old blood. He followed it, carefully, so as not to loose it.

It led to the edge of the roof, where, once he looked down, there could possibly be a way down, if one was a good climber.

He followed it. He was a good climber. He could follow it. He needed to find the sob who attacked his kids.

It led off to the west, and it was very faint.

It was getting old. He hoped this was the way he left, and not the way he arrived. He headed off west, following the faint scent. He was very careful of time. He needed to get as close as he could or even find the sonofabitch before the un started to come up.

It led to another warehouse about ten blocks down. And there, it disappeared.

He frowned at the lack of scent. He circled the warehouse, looking for any hin of a scent, invisible to the world, being careful to look for cameras so he wouldn't be photographed as well as making sure he wasn't seen.

There were cameras, but it was easy to stay out of sight of them. And the scent picked back up at the other side of the building.

Then he followed the scent, making sure to avoid detection. He was more than a little pissed. Someone was about to get hurt.

It led into the next building. One that was going to be difficult to get into. There were no windows on the first floor, and all the doors were locked.

He was watching the times carefully. But getting up into higher levels where there may be windows was not a problem. His strength alone let him jump way too high.

But all the windows were closed, so he couldn't just jump in one.

He frowned. Well the next step would be to jump to the roof. Or to climb up a railing or drain or anything that would get him up there. He needed to get into this place.

There was a simple route up a drain pipe that looked like it would hold him up to the roof.

He gave it a second look and then tried that, prepared to jump off and up if it gave way.

He made it all the way to the roof before it started to give way, making the jump from it before it went crashing down.

He landed and stopped, cloaked and listening to see if anyone had heard him. Then he looked around to find a way inside.

There was a door cracked open near the center of the roof. And it didn't appear that he had been heard.

He made his way to the door, checking it for traps and then made his way in. He needed to make his way through this place and quickly. He didn't have a lot of time and he wanted to make sure the rest of his kids were safe. Plus the night was slipping by fast. He kepted checking for that scent as he made his way inside and looked around for a way down and to see if he could get back on the trail.

He found it again on the second floor, leading down a hallway and to a door at the end.

He carefully made his way down the hallway, looking for security and traps. He was good at these thankfully, but he was taking no chances. When he got to the door, he listened, trying to make sure this wasn't a trap in itself.

There were muffled sounds from behind the door. They could be the sounds of talking, but he couldn't quite make out what they were saying.

A closed door did not let him peak in but he wanted to know what was happening. HE listened carefully and at the same time very slowly tried turning to handle, so that no one would notice it.

It didn't seem that anyone noticed, because the tenor of the discussion didn't change.
