He swept her into his arms. "Yeah. Keep waiting for him ta say 'welcome ta my parlor'. He said ya know where his house is?"

Greer nodded to him "I had some information to pass him that was sent from Europe that I didn't want to have the conversation in public if you know what I mean?" settling back into his arms.

He smiled and kissed her. Carrying her to the door. "I gotcha. More ta tha point, I need ya ta tell me where ta go."

"Well you head to the water..." with a soft laugh and starts to give him directions to where he's going.

He grinned and carried her to the car. "Ya wanna drive or ya want me to?" He wouldn't offer at a time like this. But she seemed to enjoy driving.

"No that's ok you can drive." she replied softly.

He nodded. "Wanna sit on tha console an' snuggle up ta me while I drive?" He didn't question her about it. She was clearly upset.

She nodded her head yes, crawling into the Jeep and waiting for him to drive.

He let her get settled. Then started the car and started to drive. "Ya really got me worried darlin. How about ya stay at my house tonight?"

With a deep sigh "No I think I just need to put on my big girl pants and start to move past all of this." softly said.

He rested a hand against her knee. "Ya sure? Can cuddle up ta me an' tha dogs."

"I'm already being enough of a pain in the ass no matter how lovely that sounds."

He glanced over at her. "Ya ain't havin' me do anythin' I don't wanna do darlin."

"But I feel wrong taking advantage of your offer..." curling up smaller if that was possible.

He frowned and looked at her. "Baby, it ain't takin advantage of anythin if I'm offerin it."

"But I shouldn't need it..." closing her eyes, actually seeming to fall asleep for a moment and then take a deep breath.

He frowned. "Damn it, woman. I may not love ya but I sure as hell care 'bout ya. So ya might as well let me take care of ya when I get a chance ta."

Greer looks at him confused "There is no such thing and I I appreciate it but I shouldn't of called..." shaking her head. "You just make sense at times...."

He frowned. "What do ya mean, ain't no such thing?"

Holding her head "There is no such thing as love." softly said "Friendship yes - well maybe - and then there's intimacy but it's not love and then there's - comfort which is different and safe which is different and fun which is well fun and" she sighs "Thank you but you spoil me enough and I don't want to relie on you any more than I'm doing right now."

He frowned. Then he ran a hand over her hair. "That's a lie, darlin. Love exists. It's real. Just takes time ta grow an' develop. An' ya ain't relyin' on me if I'm offerin' ta help ya."

Greer leaned into his touch "But I am...." with a defeated sigh "And I thought that once too but .... it's obsession or blood ties... it's not real....." then with a shrug "Not for me at least." softly said "So stop saying it because I already know that I feel bad for calling you and not to be a good time ready to go....." looking out the way they were going. "I know my place... " resigned in tone.

Now his brows rose. "Ya think that's all I'm interested in darlin?"

"No" rubbing her temple "Not you... " she looks at him "I just ... it's like ... hum yeah." frustratedly balling her fists up "I can't think. You answer my questions, make me laugh and I think I do you too but I can't think. Emotions are all fucked up, things are neither here nor there but they are. I just want to curl up." rubbing her temple again. "Thin worn am I."

Looking at him "You not I want to have same."

He stopped the car. He looked at her. Worry crossed his face. He wrapped his arms around her. "Hey. Hey darlin. Ya ain't makin much sense. You gonna be all right?"
