He pulled her closer. Slipped an arm around her shoulders. "Hey. I'm sorry I didn't tell ya. I thought gettin one back for Sam was more important. Him bein family an' all."

She nods, hugging him and wearily rests her head on his chest.

He ran a hand over her hair. "I'm sorry I wasn't there."

"Why you had more important things to take care of and I'll be ok." evenly said. "I am being silly..."

He sighed. But he held her anyway. "Don't mean I shouldn'ta been there."

"No you are right there were things that needed to be dealt. Thank you for letting me know" looking up at him with a smile but it doesn't get near her eyes at all.

He watched her. Then brushed a hand over her hair. "What do ya need from me darlin?"

"You gave me answers I needed. Thank you." taking a step away "I'm really not going to be good company this eve... Sorry I should of just asked on the phone. " holding her sides.

He pulled her back against him. "Hush with that. You're fine. Talk ta me."

She hugged him tightly and then a soft "I am so sorry....I was just so happy to re-find him and then to loose it all again so suddenly."

He ran a hand through her hair. "I know."

Staying curled into him hold, with a lean into his touch and nuzzles into him. "I should let you go... they said no right." more mumbled than coherently and very wearily said.

He picked her up. Then held her cradled to his chest. "No right ta what?"

When he did so she just started to cry, words would not come, she looked like she had been beaten on a more emotional level than physical as if she'd been worn thin and was just barely holding it together.

He carried her to the piano bench. Then sat down with her on his lap. "What's wrong darlin?"

Trying to find words, she finally says softly "Everything, nothing, this is dreaming?" just staying leaned against him "loosing." she finally whispers out.

He rocked her back and forth. "Ya ain't dreamin, darlin. You talk ta that Tremere yet?"

"No maybe after work tomorrow."weakly stated while staying curled into him and the easy sway. It's as if all her confidence has been drained away. "Sorry sorry sorry." faintly said over and over.

He sighed. "Why don't I call her right now?"

"I don't have her number, I'd have to contact Estaban and well......."

He held her in his lap. "I can do that too, ya know."

"I'm already being a pain.... I should let you go..." starting to reluctantly stand up.

He just pulled her back into his lap. "Look darlin. Ya called me here for a reason. Ya obviously need me ta be here. Now, I ain't gonna tell ya I love ya or anythin like that, 'cause I don't do that. But ya need me here, I'm gonna be here. Stop apologizin for things ya don't need ta apologize for an' tell me what's goin on."

"I wanted to see you." sounding defeated "I wanted to hear what you had to say about Sam." with a laugh about his love comment "Didn't ask for that and well I am being rude. I just thought we were friends and you're my only friend I think I have but then..." with a deep breath "Lady Grace pointed out to me that it wasn't the case, so hence I am saying you can leave me to my mess."

Shaking as if either very upset or in some type of withdrawal "I will call Estaban tomorrow after work, and get her number to reach her if I can." with a bitter laugh. "I really think I've gone insane this time. Childhood nightmares made real, this a dream and yet you say you are real..." distractedly to no one.

Standing suddenly "Sorry I should let you go." it's taking everything in her to do so. "Again sorry so sorry..."

He pulled her back onto his lap. "Darlin I ain't goin anywhere. Now, we can sit here an' argue 'bout it, or we can start watchin a movie or somethin' until ya feel a little better."
