Leave the shoes at the door (Marvin) 13.07.11 - The White Tower

The invitation, if one could call it that, had been a simple text message giving him an address and a time, and a note to give his name at the reception once there.

The building housed some of the most expensive apartments in town and so one didn't simple walk through the front doors without an invitation. The receptionist would take your name, check it against his lists and then, if cleared, point any visitors in the right direction.
To get to the "clock tower", there was a private elevator which required activation either by key or the owner. An intercom system allowed for communication with whoever had that privilege once you'd stepped inside said elevator as the penthouse apartment came with the added benefit of extra security.

Only fair really considering the price.

Marvin, finally free of the two weeks of clown makeup, walked up and followed the instructions to get buzzed up. He looked around, and started thinking of a dozen ways he could take down this system if he wanted.

There was no answer when he'd tapped the intercom, though the elevator had started moving so it was obvious he was expected.

A few moments later the elevator came to a stop, the door sliding open and allowing access to a large, well lit room as it opened towards the living room.
The place was probably as expensive as it looked. The decoration all in light colours except for the crimson red that had been brought in as a contrast to the mostly white furnitures and walls. Artwork of various types, from pictures to sculptures could be seen throughout the place, several weapons lining the walls, bladed weapons in particular, randing from different eras and continents.

"Shoes, off" the voice could be heard from above as Charlie walked down the stairs, glass in hand as he looked to Marvin. "You stain my carpets I'll fucking kill you" he somehow managed to say in a relaxed tone of voice that managed to sound lighthearted while at the same time holding a certain promise of threat to it.

Marvin smiled and slipped out of his sandals

"Nice place Charlie." said as he walked in "Classy, I like it."

Much like Charlie tended to do, the place looked pristine. The lighting casting a soft glow over the place while the city's, in contrast, sharp lights could be seen through the windows that could be seen throughout the place.
The youth gave him a smile as his feet touched the floor, sipping at his glass again as he motioned for the Malkavian to come inside.
"Figured you might" he said, moving over to the open kitchen. "Can I get you something to drink?" he asked, surprisingly enough turning his back to the man as he opened the fridge.

"Sure" he smiled, looking around the place to see how orderly everything was.

Everything was neatly arranged, placed with care and orderly. Perhaps not as orderly as the Malkavian would want it to be if he needed those lines to be perfectly straight, but orderly none the less.

The youth picked a glass from a nearby shelf, filled it up and placed the flask back in the fridge before turning to his guest, offering him the glass with one of his usual smiled.

He took the drink with thanks

"You know, I almost had the urge to rearrange your place there for a moment."

"Sure, go right ahead" Charlie leaned forward, resting his elbows on the counter that currently separated them.
"If I get to rearrange yours"

Marvin took a sip of his drink and smiled softly

"Do you really think it's wise to get between a Malkavian and his derangement?"

"Would hardly be the first time" the youth straightened up, still with a smile to those pale lips of his. "And I'm still here, aren't I?" he walked around from behind the counter, picking up his own glass with slender fingers before brushing past Marvin.

"You like it dangerous don't you Charlie?"

"And you're any better?" he asked over his shoulder as he moved over to one of the white sofas and slumped down on it with a lazy smile. "We don't live the kind of life that stays interesting for very long anymore less we invite a little danger into it"

"Me?" he said innocently as he leaned against a wall. "I'm just a mild mannered computer programmer. What danger could I get into?"

"Oh please" he leaned into the corner of the sofa, putting his feet up. "I've seen the look in your eyes" and perhaps in a few ways it wasn't all that different from the one in Charlie's.

"Last really dangerous thing I did was sneaking into the Soviet Embassy in London and hacking their mainframe. And that was after my sire put two the two Russian Brujah inside on ice while I did it."

He shrugged and took another drink "Not really dangerous if you are invisible and the guard dogs are sleeping."

Charlie rested an elbow on the back of the sofa, a finger to his temple as he tilted his head to the side.
"Dangerous enough..." he almost sounded approving. "I've been warned about you. But where the fun in listening to warnings?"

He raised an eyebrow. "Oh, and who warned you about me? And in what way? "

"Does it matter?" he still smiled from the sofa. "They were right though, you are fire... but we both know I like playing with things that can hurt if I fail"

He smirked "So did she, until she realized that when given leave to burn as much as I wanted to, I could do a lot of damage. For what it's worth, had I know how traumatic it was I wouldn't have gone as far as I did."

"There's that conscience thing again" he motioned a slender finger at him, drawing circles in the air. "That still got me confused"
Though he'd already made it clear that some things weren't meant to be burnt now hadn't he?

"Less conscience than common sense. You don't break the things you enjoy now do you? And you've laid out limits, which was more than she did. Although I did have the distinct satisfaction of establishing perhaps for the first time what her limits were, so some good came out f it."

"I guess so..." he eyes him for a moment with that steel blue gaze of his.
"So tell me, how do you want to do this?"

"I didn't bring my foil, so we fight with whatever you have. Clear an area, and fight until one of us gives in. Want to use live blades, or you got training swords?"

He motioned to the walls.
There were plenty to choose from, some looking older than others, but most looked like they were still in condition so to be used. Of course, the choice of rapiers and other light blades on one wall presented themselves as a more natural selection perhaps. There were some training weapons among them as well, though most were sharp.

"I don't know what you prefer" the youth said, looking up at him and reaching for his glass again. "Have a look around, tell me what you like"
