She was back within forty five minutes, with all that he had asked her to get.

"Back! And no distractions!"

He smiled at her, already out back and warming up the grill.

"Well, welcome back!"

She put everything on the counter and came back to give him a hug.

"What do you need me to do?"

He smiled.

"How about you start making the salad?"

She nodded.

"I can do that. We making enough for Savannah?"

She didn't know what had happened since she'd left.

He nodded.

"Of course. In case she might want to join us."

She nodded.

"Just wanted to make sure. You let her know what we're having?"

He smiled.

"Not yet. I'll call her in just a few minutes, though."

She nodded and kissed his cheek.

"Okay. I'll go make the salad."

He grinned and pulled out his phone to call Savannah.

"This is Savannah Morgan how can I help you?" she hadn't looked at the phone, she just answered as she was getting undressed from her more formal day.

"Hey, Savannah. It's me. I'm firing up the grill, want to come and have dinner with me and Elizabeth?"

"Medium Rare? A good red wine and why not?" with a soft sigh as she said "I'm just in my place be over shortly." click.

He hung up the phone and tucked it back into his pocket. Leaving the grill, he went inside to start seasoning the meat before putting it on the grill.

She was in the process of making the salad, singing softly as she worked. It was a simple green salad, that would go very well with the meat.

He smiled as he looked over at Elizabeth.

"Savannah will be here shortly."

She nodded.

"Good. I will set the place for her."

He smiled.

"Thank you, Elizabeth."

She nodded.

"Of course."

He smiled.

"Want to throw some potatoes into some foil so I can toss them on the grill, too?"

She nodded.

"I can do that."

And then went about doing just that. Washing the potatoes first, then carefully making sure that they were completely covered in foil.

He smiled and took each potato from her -- he opened the foil enough to drizzle oil on the potatoes as well as garlic and a few other spices. He wasn't looking at her much, but then, he also seemed to know his way around the kitchen. Rare for a Kindred.

She didn't seem to need much of anything from him right now. She was happy just being domestic. And didn't seem to find anything strange in him knowing his way around.

He moved back out toward the grill, potatoes and a large plate of meat in hand.
