Medwyn's Nightmare (5/28) - Sunflower Beach

He tried, oh, oh, how he tried to block out her screaming. Training took over and, despite his horror, he was trying to staunch the blood flow from the little body, using his own clothing even to try and stop her from bleeding to death right where she lay.

He couldn't help it, though. He had to keep trying. And so he did, realizing that the heat that he felt on his cheeks were his own tears.

Hopeless.

He knew it was hopeless. But he had to keep trying.

Shaking, he sighed and just reached up to close the little girl's eyes. He had done what he could; everything that his training had said he should.

But he couldn't save her.

He would never be able to save her.

The feeling of hopelessness overwhelmed him.

((Dream over, but for the rest of the night, he's going to see dead little bodies everywhere.))
