He laughed. "Not closer. Close in a different way."

He looked at the man. So all he had to do was be a little miserable and the other man was suddenly happy. Yeah, beautiful.

"Well now you know why I havent spent much time with her."

God, how had this become about him.

It wasn't really happy-sounding laughter. "It's a bullshit excuse, though."

"yeah, it is. On the other hand you let her end the best thing in her life, when you gave her a ring, because she was insecure and jealous and you didnt want to deal with her...femaleness."

Bull shit excuse it was. He knew women by now, better than Estaban and knew how crazy they got.

"That's gotta be a you thing, guy. Because I'm fine dealing with my woman's femaleness. Even the crazy."

He raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, then why are you in here brooding and looking like you want to kill someone? You're laughing now, but when I came in.. it was like someone killed your dog and left it on your wall."

"I said I was fine dealin' with my woman bein' crazy. I didn't say I did it calmly."

He gave him a nod.

"true dat."

He pulled out his phone and looked at it. "Heh. Looks like she wants ta talk."

He nodded.

"Then I will leave you."

He set money down for the drinks plus some.

"I meant it you know. I do still think of you as a friend."

And he started to walk away.

He tossed bills on the bar. "Ya do? Ya got a funny way of showin' it." He drained his glass and sent a text message. "Sorry. But ya do."

He walked out. Let the man think what he did

He left to deal with his woman.
