What's This? (A Wedding)

Orie was dressed pretty conservatively. She would not be the one who tried to outdo the bride. She was one of the folks who had placed a bet that it would be Erik who chickened out rather than Griselda, though she didn't really put much stock in it. And she didn't care. She was here because it was right to be here, no other reason. She wasn't milling around so much as she was staying off to the side, not sitting until they started to shoo people toward seats.

Jim arrived with Greer. He was even dressed up in a suit and tie! Write home about that one. Unlike Oriella, he was firmly on the 'Griselda will chicken out' side of the fence.

Being Griselda's ghoul, he was already there. He felt it wrong to make bets on the situation, since he knew Griselda was already there, hiding and fretting. His date was Greg, the blonde manager of the Maison d'Alucard. He wasn't offended at not being a part of the wedding party - his domitor was painfully old-fashioned in many ways and as a result, he was not a 'bridesmaid'. This did not bother him. In fact, little did. He was just waiting for the whole thing to fall apart, for Erik to not be there and he would, once again, have to pick his tiny Domitor up and take her back home, where the Big Bad couldn't hurt her anymore. That was his destiny, now and forever.

A man of average height and build with a better than average look about him enters the room. What fascinates is his youthful complexion in direct contrast with the strong lines and pensive draw that generally come with physical age, an apparent form of what Kindred are already well known for in aura and demeanor. What detracts is a complete lack of what most would consider fashion: A dark somewhat beaten sports coat, a thin grey hoodie under that which looks a little frayed, a mostly concealed tacky print t-shirt, heavy canvas pants, worn black leather loafers, and an actual wizard's staff, arcane detailing all, strapped to his back.

Without looking around much, he heads over to the guestbook and signs it. Then, the newcomer pulls a small wrapped box from his coat and places it on the appropriate table. Finally, he takes a seat in the back, propping his staff just so, produces a book, and starts reading.

Victor arrived with Miyu and Audrina. Walking up he looked around and slipped over to Griselda for a moment.

Best man, was making the rounds, and a confidence that she was going through with it, and he looked normal this even in his suit.

She looked rather stunning. And a nervous wreck. But she was hiding behind a tree with her father, Rachel and Tisa. She was pacing, trying to remember what she had forgotten (nothing). She looked up as Victor came around.

"Go sit with everybody else," she grumbled, another sign of her nervousness.

Victor ignored Tisa and nodded politely to Joseph and Rachel.

He paused for a moment and fixed his eyes on Griselda. "Now is the moment of triumph, you will excel and claim your rightful victory."


The Ventrue's demeanor and poise was something radically different, something he rarely showed people. It was that of not command, but that of somebody who could, when they wished to expend the effort speak with a rare authority and meaning, the sort of attitude and behavior that was meant to guide his words to bring people to a point of inspiration. He smiled softly and walked back to Miyu and Audrina.

Dressed in a dark blue dress, that looked amazing and fit perfectly for a night wedding, she knew he'd be busy so she just went to sit at the Bride's side quietly.

Rachel was in her maid of honor dress and Tisa was in her bridesmaid dress.  

Rachel looked at Victor leery, then back at Griselda, and the cold shoulder to Tisa.

Erik showed with a glowing smile, greeted those he knew and headed towards Matieu, as he was worried that something was going wrong he hadn't planned for.

Greer wasn't in purple for once but a pink dress her long hair down, her hand in Jim's and she was looking aorund taking in all the festivities little things. After all that was part of the fun of a wedding.

She stared at Victor.

"I will object to you referring to Erik as a 'rightful victory' later. Go sit, I've got this."

"I'm sitting." he sighed while still walking off. Pesky Scots.

Victor joined Miyu and Audrina after putting a small box on the gift table.

"If she doesn't say 'I do' in the next twenty minutes, she may explode."

Rachel looked at Griselda "Can I hit him?" she knew it was going to be a no but damn it would make her feel better.

She shook her head at Rachel.

"After the reception, please. I am nervous enough as it is."

"who's the brunette hottie that's breathing?" looking around the tree, "Wow Purple chick is in Pink, and Erik's here - soon the service will start."

Ohh, you thought she was in a panic before. She heard Tisa and stopped dead in her tracks.

"He's HERE?!" she squeaked. "Oh, God. Oh, my God. Oh, geez."

Panic mode activated.

Rachel grabbed her by the shoulder's "The groom is going to be here Griselda. Now we are just waiting on the priest. Will you chill? Why don't you ask your father who the hottie is?" distract the bride.....

"Weddings tend to work best when both parties are present, Buttons," he said mildly. "And the lovely young woman is Penny, my date."

She looked at Rachel, listened to her father's soothing voice. And then her lips pursed.

"I have faced down mages, werewolves, demons and Baali. And this. This here is what makes me as nervous as a virgin on prom night." She shook her head. "I'm good. I've got this. And he is in so much trouble for making me panic...."

"why are you mad at Erik, and the Priest has just showed."

She shook her head.

"I'm not. But if I tell myself that I am, I panic less," she said honestly. "If I tell myself that I am angry, even if I can't muster any anger, I forget how bloody terrified that I am."

"do you love him?" she asked her point blank.
