"I am unsure I would call it a gift. But I would call it part of life. And in pain can be power. I am not one of those that gets pleasure from pain, but I accept it and I do not hide from it."

"You don't need to gain pleasure from it to realize that it is a gift."

She had given him enough time to get fully under control.

"Not a problem I have encountered yet. I feel anything but dead."

Then she leaned in and pressed her lips to his in a deep, bruising kiss.

he took the kiss and maybe returned it a little.. though not as much as he would if his fingers had not been broken. when she let up he looked at her close.

"Wouldnt the point be I dont need it then?"

It was a deep kiss -- and a painful one. As she did, he felt the stab of the blade in his stomach, opening a shallow, but still painful, wound in his stomach.

"Everyone needs it."

Okay, that hurt. Really bad. But now he was bleeding. Just a little. He grit his teeth and groaned for a moment. The fact that she was kissing him stopped him from hanging his head.

"Let it come," she whispered, her mouth against his lips. Her fingers trailed over the wound, pressing inside of his cold, dead flesh. "Let it come."

she didn't know.. that he could hide the pain, so easily, now that he was bleeding.

Her hands were pressing against his flesh opening the wounds.

"What else would come, but blood and pain? And who am I to give these gifts to you? They belong to the gods."

His voice was strained but still he worked through the pain..

"Not even close. But it is for my god that I do this."

"I don't have that much time. Like I said, there are many. Does your god accept blood as payment?"
